Behind Closed Doors - Thriller and Suspense

Image
Sweet B.A. Paris what am I going to DO with you?! Jeez. This book was the WORST in the BEST way possible. Gosh if I could just get my hands on Jack I would be locked up for the rest of my days. If you liked books like The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides or Verity by Colleen Hoover, you are in the right place. This book has no spice at all, so if that is what you are looking for, take a leap of faith or skedattle.  Little Blurb:  Grace is a nice girl. She has a nice name, a nice sister, and a nice career. When she meets Jack, everything feels right and her life is seemingly complete. Excited to start their married life together, Grace anxiously awaits their wedding day. When things don't go exactly to plan, she is a little shaken, but has yet to find out what is to come of married life with Jack. When things take a dark turn, she finds her life far from what she could ever imagine. Will she ever be able to escape her dark new reality? Or will it haunt her till the las...

Verity- Low Spice ULTRA Psyco Thriller

Image
This book is definitely giving "The Wives" by Tarryn Fisher. Starting with a gory incident in the road and ending with facts that leave you feeling twisted in the mind, this book is a ride from page one all the way to the back cover.  A small Blurb:  When renowned writer Verity Crawford is injured in a car accident, Lowen, a not so renowned author is called upon to finish Verity's current series. While looking into Verity's notes on the series and an autobiography she left behind, she uncovers gruesome and terrifying details the change everything for Lowen. Tragic loss. Toxic love. This book is a perfect read for those who love a good psychological thriller mixed in with a little bit of smut here and there.  Im going to be really honest, due to what I have heard about Colleen Hoover and her writing, I was hesitant to pick up this book, but I cant turn down a psycho thriller. EVER. But let me tell you... NO REGRETS! I read this is two sittings. Was almost late to my si...

Sill Beating- Medium Spice

Image
You will laugh. You will cry. You will panic. You will blush.  This is to date, my favorite spicy read. I am a sucker for a good suspense novel, but I didn't know how BLISSFUL the combination of spice and suspense was until this book. Jennifer Hartmann, I NEED more!! She does an excellent job at keeping you guessing and absolutely engrossed in the book. Beware, I found myself up way past my bedtime with this read which is rare. This is a very difficult book to put down, but let's be real, I'm not complaining ;) A little blurb:  Cora and Dean have been life long sworn enemies. Dean has been with Cora's sister, Mandy, for over 14 years. They prank each other, insult each other, you would almost think they were a marries couple. A few short weeks before Mandy and Dean say, "I do" a life altering event strikes them. Will Dean and Mandy ever be the same? Will Cora and Dean ever be the same? Will Mandy and Cora ever be the same? To find out how this trio's dyn...

Haunting Adeline - HIGH Spice

Image
Grab a sweat rag and a buckle up. We have a lot to dish out here.  I do want to preface with a few warnings here. I want to respect trauma readers may have so here a a few subjects this book deals with:  -non-consensual sexual acts  -rape -sex trafficking -child sex trafficking -child sexual abuse  -gun play -sexual aggression  -grooming With that out there, let's get started dishing out this gem of a book. This book was a bit much, even for me which is saying a lot. But it was none the less an intresting and exposing read. This recap is going to be a little unusual as everything I have to say isn't positive. I feel that Z was a little too obsessed and had no ounce of self control. Though, I am not complaining about that when it comes to the bedroom scenes. Z does some really good work in this book, but I love a man who practices a little more restraint and gentleman like manners, but that is just my smutty preference. Controversially to that, I feel that...

The Wolf Hotel Series: Medium Spice

Image
MMM...MMMM..mmmmm. Can we just thank K.A. Tucker for this delicious series. And let's just thank Mr.Wolf himself for his oh so sexy self. This is a great series if you have just graduated from low spice books and are looking for something more naughty and frisky.  A small blurb:  A small town, Christian, good girl lands a job as a landscaper at a large hotel chain that is far from home. Little does she know just how much this business will corrupt her. Sweet, dirty, naughty corruption. When she finds out she has been transferred to another department upon arrival, she is furious. But little does she know how much this will change her life. A hot skip and a jump down the road later she finds herself presented the opportunity to be the secretary for Mr.Wolf. With this... I will leave the rest to your imagination.  Now, similar to Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas, this is a slow burn for a while, but the burn is worth while. The burn is still spicy, but it doesn't fe...

Birthday Girl: Low Spice

Image
Let's talk about Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas. If you are just graduating from Twilight and Colleen Hoover, this is a fantastic choice. This work of art introduces age gap and a twist on "daddy" kinks.  A small blurb:  A typical small town. One where people typically live all their lives and never leave. Never grow. Never prosper. A girl full of making better for herself. A crappy boyfriend who is lazy and does not deserve the girl. She meets a man.... a much older man. Their romance is a slow burn. Painfully slow. Thanks to a series of events, every day the passion for each other comes more and more irresistible. But will they cross that line? Does she have the heart to leave her boyfriend for a life that she never could have imagined? SPOILER:  Can we talk about the slow burning and painful romance between them? Each time they lock eyes or are in each others proximity, you can just feel the need for the two to hop into the sheets together. While this book is...
