Behind Closed Doors - Thriller and Suspense
Sweet B.A. Paris what am I going to DO with you?! Jeez. This book was the WORST in the BEST way possible. Gosh if I could just get my hands on Jack I would be locked up for the rest of my days. If you liked books like The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides or Verity by Colleen Hoover, you are in the right place. This book has no spice at all, so if that is what you are looking for, take a leap of faith or skedattle.
Little Blurb:
Grace is a nice girl. She has a nice name, a nice sister, and a nice career. When she meets Jack, everything feels right and her life is seemingly complete. Excited to start their married life together, Grace anxiously awaits their wedding day. When things don't go exactly to plan, she is a little shaken, but has yet to find out what is to come of married life with Jack. When things take a dark turn, she finds her life far from what she could ever imagine. Will she ever be able to escape her dark new reality? Or will it haunt her till the last of her days?
Now guys, let's dive into this. And warning, there WILL be SPOILERS!!!
A.) WHAT the actual heck?? I am so confused as to what Jack wanted with Millie. Like it was giving me a little bit of a weird sexual vibe but also like a cold blooded murder vibe. Wasn't too sure... but I am SO glad she did not to find out. I was ready to ride at dawn if anything happened to sweet Millie.
B.) But let't ignore Millie for a second and talk about Molly. Now I do a lot of my reading on my commutes and I shamelessly teared up when I realized there was no house keeper. Authors can get really dark, but I personally draw the line at killing off animals. As a fur mama myself, my heart just cannot take it.
C.) I truly keep wondering how Esther knew that she was in danger. I wonder what she did. I wonder how she got away with it. And weirdly, I can't help but hope she got to sell the house, keep the money, and move Millie and herself far away from that mess.
Speaking of the ending, how brutal and annoying was that ending? Brilliant, but I require closure and that was not the closure I was seeking. I really want to hear other peoples opinions on the ending. I was waiting for a meeting to start when I got to the end of the book, and didn't even realize that was the end. I no joke teared up because I was so angry with it.
As always, the comment section can be a place for readers to vent or share their opinions. I love to hear other peoples thoughts on books!
Happy Reading!
XOXO,
K.LEX
